Position Responsibilities

Source New Investment Opportunities

Cover a geographical marketplace whereby the team member has identified and periodically develops opportunities from private equity sponsors, mezzanine and other private credit funds, commercial bankers, asset-based lenders and other industry professionals.

Cultivate alternative sources for transaction generation via vendor channels or other indirect referral sources

Effectively utilize electronic, direct mail, telephone and in-person marketing approaches to establish trusted relationships and proprietary transaction opportunities.

Actively participate (via committee or board service) and attend relevant industry trade and networking associations (events and conferences)

Lead new transaction opportunities with CapX deal team members and present to Investment Committee demonstrating competence and alignment with the firm’s risk and return guidelines

Contribute any new product offering or proprietary skill to improve CapX’s competitive position in the non-bank credit markets

Underwriting, Negotiations & Due Diligence

Lead and work closely with Associates and Analysts on transaction analysis for primary overview and detailed summary presentation that lead to binding proposals.

Contribute and assist Associates and Analysts with final credit approval document and process.

Lead drafting and delivery of transaction indications of interest and binding proposals

Represent and lead CapX with negotiation of transaction terms and conditions whereby the firm is competently represented.

Actively participate with Partners, Portfolio Management, Associates and Analysts on business due diligence including prospect site visit, documentation collection, participate in legal documentation process and assist with closing the transaction.

Portfolio Management

Maintain consistent point of contact with each transaction originated for CapX.

Assist in monitoring needs during the investment time period

Lead changes in agreements (covenants, restructures, extensions)

Assist with end of transaction event (residual negotiation, buy out, payoff needs)

Required Experience / Attributes / Characteristics
CapX Partners is searching for a team player with experience working in a high-pressure and fast paced, work environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record:

Minimum 7 years of private company credit experience with proven achievements in business development

Established referral network in assigned geographical territory

Excellent analytical and organizational skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office products

Demonstrated competence with Salesforce and database management

Superior listening, oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and professionally to all constituents

Demonstrated ability to deliver under tight client driven deadlines

Able to work well independently, self-directed, internally motivated

Conducts self in a polished, professional manner and operates as a team player.

Education Requirements

Undergraduate degree required in relevant concentration of study

MBA or post undergraduate degree attractive but not required

Position Expectations

Full time, salaried position

Will require 40+ hours per week with client/constituent driven deadline needs

Ability to travel and cover geographical territory throughout calendar year

Compensation

Competitive base salary

Bonus targeted to new business development goals, demonstrated market coverage discipline via measured activities and overall company performance
